Before the handover file: why RepAgentic exists
The average CRO lasts less than 18 months, so the first 90 days are a sixth of the job. RepAgentic exists so revenue leaders know what they've inherited in week one, not at day 90.
By Jeremy Heap, Founder, RepAgentic
According to the Revenue Operations Alliance's 2025 CRO Insights Report, the average CRO lasts less than 18 months. That makes the first 90 days a sixth of the job. And Harvard Business Review research found that in 62% of companies, revenue growth slows or stalls in the year after a CRO changes.
That isn't because revenue leaders lack talent. It's because they start blind. A new CRO inherits a team, a plan and a pipeline without a clear view of what's actually working. The first 90 days go on discovery, and the gap nobody mentioned shows up when it's already theirs.
The problem RepAgentic solves
We give revenue leaders, and the CEOs who hire them, an honest, evidence-based view of where their go-to-market really stands: which of four maturity bands it sits in, what that overall picture is hiding and the first thing to fix. Then we help them fix it in the right order, with the team they already have.
The outcome is simple: know it in week one, not at day 90. Spend the first quarter making progress, not making discoveries.
Why now?
With so little time in the role, no CRO can afford a slow start. And AI now makes it possible to read a company's public evidence across eight capabilities within one business day. Guided by hands-on revenue experience, that gives leaders a head start they couldn't get before.
I learned how much this matters at a global enterprise software company, bringing four regional teams together into one global account development organisation. Annual pipeline grew from US$20M to US$450M.
What comes next
Starting tomorrow, I'll set out the handover file every CRO wishes they'd had, one page at a time. If you want the thinking behind page one now, read An average GTM score hides the problem you actually have.
Read what the minute shows
- The claim. At handover you were told your team is world-class: all eight capabilities rated green, unchecked.
- Day 7. Eight questions, one for each capability, to test whether the evidence backs the claims.
- Outside-In Read. 17 of 48 practices visible from outside, a provisional 58% Repair, and a four-page Executive Brief within one business day.
- Verification. All 48 practices checked against the team's own evidence, from a 645-question library, asked only where needed.
- Outside meets inside. One of eight claims holds up, and the first area to fix moves from Team Design to Market Reality.
- Where you land. The 29 to 87% range closes to one point: 59% Repair.
- Verified Plan. Every action dated and owned: one written market for Market Reality, working by 23 Nov 2026.
- Your choice. Run the Verified Plan yourself or add build support, aiming for 68% to 76% of opportunities accepted, 81% to 88% reaching later stages and $0.5M to $1.1M more revenue a year.
The animation uses everyday names for the eight capabilities: Who you sell to (Market Reality), Go-to-market plan (Revenue Plan), Team, culture and pay (Team Design), Value proposition (Value Story), Account outreach (Motions), Enablement (Rep Readiness), Tech, data and AI (Systems and Data) and What gets measured (Metrics). Illustrative example, fictional company.
Know it in week one, not at day 90.
Where this starts
What have you actually inherited?
The free RepAgentic Outside-In Read reads your go-to-market from public evidence, places it on the four-band maturity scale and names the first area to fix. Typically within one business day.
